We exist and care as:

Grace Covenant Church by sharing our life’s journey in God’s love and grace, thus we care by making a covenant to demonstrate God’s love and grace as a church in every interaction we have with families in our community.

We assume:

There are a large number of unchurched families in the Irmo Community, reflecting a two-income culture with all the mental and emotional needs of such a culture and that these unchurched families have limited time for commitments but a strong unrealized need to commit to the Gospel.  We believe a commitment to the Gospel will bring about significant and meaningful culture-transforming relationships to the families of Irmo.

Our mission:

At Grace Covenant Church is to initiate ministries to families in the Irmo Community that will be a contact point between the unchurched families of Irmo and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Thus we believe we are and will hold ourselves accountable to disciple all who may come.

Therefore:

We will as a church focus on the ministry of “We Care Evangelism,” by being proactive in seeking out the unchurched families.  “We Care Evangelism” will demonstrate Christ’s love in every interaction we have with these unchurched families by fostering warmth and acceptance.  “We Care Evangelism” gives families space to enter into the journey at their own pace with the purpose of bringing them into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We will as a church focus on the ministry of compassion and mercy by being proactive in seeking out families in Irmo who do not share the same economic prosperity of our community.  We will then seek to meet the personal needs of these families within the resources of the church and community with the purpose of bringing them into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We will as a church focus on ministry of justice to families who lack the knowledge, abilities or resources to receive treatment of equality from community in times of need or family crisis.  Our priority is to assist families in seeking justice by providing resources or help in obtaining information so that families may receive their just due within the community during such need or crisis.   The purpose of justice ministry is to bring significant and meaningful culture-transforming relationships to families and community by the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Core Values:

We will as a church never minimize Jesus Christ in an effort to bring families through the church doors.

We will seek as a church the awesome power of prayer in the support of the ministries by asking God’s people for prevailing, earnest, faith-filled prayers.

We will worship as a church by centrality of preaching the gospel so as to seek transformation for the unbeliever and appropriation to the believer of the gospel.

We will assist members as a church in discovering their spiritual gifts and utilizing those gifts in ministries of the church.
